Helping Village SMEs Scale Up, Trilogi University Collaborates with Global Partners

SMEs in this village face a range of challenges in financial management, including limited understanding of financial record-keeping, cash flow planning, and access to financing sources. Despite their significant potential, many SME entrepreneurs in Babatan Village continue to struggle with financial management issues. A lack of knowledge in bookkeeping, working capital management, and appropriate investment strategies often hinders business growth. Without sound financial management, it is difficult for business actors to maintain sustainability, secure funding, or expand their operations.

To address these issues, academics from Trilogi University, through a community service program, have initiated mentoring and support for SME actors in Babatan Village. This initiative is also conducted in collaboration with Marlon Rael Astillero, a practitioner from Thai Global Business Administration Technological College.

“This program focuses on the implementation of Financial Management in SMEs, covering areas such as financial planning, working capital management, business transaction recording, and strategies for debt and investment management,” explained Aty Herawati, a member of the Community Service team from Trilogi University.

Aty Herawati, who also serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Business, and Humanities (FEBH) at Trilogi University, further explained that the objective of this community service activity is to enhance the financial management skills and understanding of SME players, particularly in Babatan Village, Kadugede Subdistrict, Kuningan Regency.

“With the development of tourism destinations like Bale Campernik and innovations such as the Hydroponic Greenhouse for melon cultivation, business actors have strong economic opportunities. However, they still face challenges in financial recording, capital management, and funding access. This program is delivered through training, workshops, simulations, and hands-on mentoring in financial bookkeeping and the use of financial technology,” she added.

The Community Service Team consists of Aty Herawati, Fanny Suzuda Pohan, and Sri Opti. Through this initiative, it is expected that SMEs in Babatan Village will be able to manage their finances more professionally and enhance their business competitiveness.

“Moreover, they will be in a better position to access capital for sustainable business growth,” added Fanny Suzuda Pohan, who also serves as the Head of the Undergraduate Management Study Program at Trilogi University.
