"HERE AND NOW": INTEGRASI PENDEKATAN PSIKOLOGI GESTALT DALAM MEMAHAMI KARAKTERISTIK ANAK USIA DINI
Abstract
Abstrak Pendekatan psikologi Gestalt memiliki potensi besar dalam memahami dan mengelola karakteristik anak, dengan penekanan pada prinsip "living here and now" yang mendorong kesadaran penuh terhadap pengalaman saat ini. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana teori Gestalt dapat diterapkan untuk mendalami perkembangan psikologis anak, dengan fokus pada penerapannya dalam pendidikan dan konseling. Melalui prinsip-prinsip dasar Gestalt, seperti kesadaran diri dan interaksi langsung dengan lingkungan, anak dapat lebih memahami perasaan mereka dan membangun keterampilan sosial yang lebih baik. Teknik-teknik Gestalt, seperti empty chair dan role reversal, diadaptasi untuk memungkinkan anak mengekspresikan perasaan mereka dengan cara yang lebih autentik. Meskipun penerapan pendekatan ini pada anak memerlukan penyesuaian, terutama terkait dengan perkembangan kognitif dan emosional mereka, pendekatan Gestalt berpotensi memberikan kontribusi besar dalam pengembangan sosial dan emosional anak. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa melalui penerapan prinsip-prinsip Gestalt, anak dapat mengalami peningkatan dalam kesadaran diri, hubungan interpersonal, serta kemampuan mereka dalam mengelola emosi dan perasaan.

Abstract The Gestalt psychological approach offers significant potential in understanding and managing children's characteristics, with an emphasis on the principle of "living here and now," which encourages full awareness of the present experience. This article aims to examine how Gestalt theory can be applied to explore children's psychological development, focusing on its implementation in education and counseling. Through fundamental Gestalt principles such as self-awareness and direct interaction with the environment, children can better understand their feelings and develop improved social skills. Gestalt techniques, such as the empty chair and role reversal, are adapted to allow children to express their feelings in a more authentic way. Although the application of this approach with children requires adjustments, particularly regarding their cognitive and emotional development, the Gestalt approach holds great potential in contributing to children's social and emotional development. This article concludes that by applying Gestalt principles, children can experience an increase in self-awareness, interpersonal relationships, and their ability to manage emotions and feelings.
